Around the World in 80 Days tells the story of Phileas Fogg, a Londoner who makes a wager with his social club friends that he could journey around the world in only 80 days. The story follows Fogg through a number of countries and harrowing situations on his globetrotting adventure. Around the World in 80 Days was published in serial form in a Parisian newspaper which means that readers received only a few parts of the book at a time. The finished story was compiled into a book and released in 1873.These PUBBLYs have professionally produced audio and sound effects, as well as animated dialog boxes. The panels of the graphic novels are presented one or two sliding panels at a time so that readers can see and experience the story fully and to let the story unfold slowly over time. Teacher’s guides (downloadable PDFs) contain background information, vocabulary, comprehension questions, and discussion guides.
