Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations received critical acclaim and was extremely popular when it was released, first serially between 1860 and 1861, and then as a complete book in 1861. It tells the coming-of-age story of Pip, an orphan who struggles to find his true self. He moves up and down the social ladder, through a number of jobs, and falls in love during his journey of self-discovery. These PUBBLYs have professionally produced audio and sound effects, as well as animated dialog boxes. The panels of the graphic novels are presented one or two sliding panels at a time so that readers can see and experience the story fully and to let the story unfold slowly over time. Teacher’s guides (downloadable PDFs) contain background information, vocabulary, comprehension questions, and discussion guides.
