Theseus and the Minotaur is a tale of Greek mythology, a rich and detailed world of stories that helped Ancient Greeks make sense of the world around them. Myths are connected to religion in the Greek world, explaining the origin and lives of the gods and humans, as well as where they went after they died. The gods and goddesses who lived on Mount Olympus are at the center of many of these stories. They each rule some aspect of the world. For example, Zeus is the god of all gods and also of the weather, Athena is the goddess of wisdom, Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, and Ares is the god of war. These PUBBLYs have professionally produced audio and sound effects, as well as animated dialog boxes. The panels of the graphic novels are presented one or two sliding panels at a time so that readers can see and experience the story fully and to let the story unfold slowly over time. Teacher’s guides (downloadable PDFs) contain background information, vocabulary, comprehension questions, and discussion guides.
